Just got home last night after spending a week in the warmth and sunshine of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Highlight of the trip – exploring El Yunque National Forest! We got to enjoy the sand and sound of waves along the beach as well as the bird calls in the rainforest.
One evening I tried and tried to find a bird I kept hearing in a tree. I finally asked someone if they knew what kind of bird was making that soothing call. He chuckled and I was informed that it was not a bird at all but a coqui frog that is endemic to Puerto Rico. What a surprise! A loud, beautiful call from a little, tiny tree frog. Who knew?
Stayed up last night downloading lots of photos taken over the week. Hoping to post some soon. For now, there’s just one thing I want to say –
Best. Thanksgiving. Ever.
