Travel often leads to new discoveries. That was definitely true of our recent trip to Hawaii. Some of those encounters were at the Maui Ocean Center, where we were able to get up close to fish without going out to the coral reefs, often referred to as the rainforests of the sea. You see, I never learned how to swim. . . .
This cute, little guy is a yellow tang. Of course, with the color and brightness of sunshine, he caught my attention immediately.
As I thought back to my short time of adventure in El Yunque National Rainforest, I wondered how many people get so distracted by the beauty of mountain after mountain of tall trees and the calls of birds and tree frogs that they end up getting lost in the rainforest.
For anyone with such a lack of a sense of direction as myself, it would be so easy to do just that. Get distracted and lost! For a little while at least, it might feel like I was lost in paradise.
